Planning Your Wedding

Your wedding will be one of the most memorable events of your life, whether you go for huge formal occasion,or a small, intimate ceremony.

Getting the details right is a challenge however you decide to celebrate.

So, the way you plan the day is of utmost importance .

The ‘B’ word-budget, a word no-one wants to use but we all have to .It may be a large wedding budget (lucky you!) but ultimately everyone has a particular amount at their disposal.

The way you allocate your funds is a large part of the initial planning process. Your guest list, the ceremony venue, your reception venue, & the photographer/videographer are probably the major start items on your agenda. Word of mouth is often a good recommendation as to the quality of a particular business, but always check it out yourself.

Go to the reception venue when its set up to see if it fits your idea ,& definitely eat a sample of your menu.

When you’ve made your decision & paid a deposit, make sure you get in writing what you are both (Client & supplier) agreeing to. When you are so busy, & dealing with many different groups of people, it is easy to get confused .If you have a contract to refer to, the details are there in black & white so everyone knows where they stand. Remember, you are potentially spending thousands of dollars, so it is important to keep a track of it !

Every bride has a different idea of what makes the ultimate wedding. Don’t be afraid to rope in any clever or talented friends or family to help you- this can save you money & time in some areas so you can spend it (or save it!) in others.

Hopefully, the amount of time, effort & energy you put into your wedding plans will be reflected in the smooth running of your wedding day. However, there are several factors none of us has control over – the weather ,for instance. Always have back-up plans in place if anything is dependant on fair weather.

On ‘The Day,’ many of the things you spent days worrying about will seem totally irrelevant, & all you will want to do is celebrate surrounded by your best family & friends .It is a wonderful day & the most important planning tip of all is ‘ Plan to enjoy yourself !’. Our complete winter wedding guide will give you more tips and ideas to make your special day a success.

Perfect Wedding Flowers

Wednesday, February 24th, 2010

Choosing the flowers you will have for your wedding is one of the nicest tasks you will do as a bride. Some girls will have their dream bouquet worked out from when they were little, others will clutch at their heads thinking “I don’t know one flower from the next!”.

If you fall into the 2nd category, don’t panic! One of the best strategies is to buy,or borrow,a few wedding mags, and just browse through them & pick out anything that appeals to you.A particular shade of pink, the colour of a rose, the way a bouquet is held.As you build your collection of images,it will help you to decide on a theme .Just keep your eyes open & clip anything you like the look of.

There are many beautiful flowers available almost the whole year round now, such as roses & lilies.Orchids are another reliable wedding flower, especially in warmer areas as they can stand up to the climate.

An unlimited budget would be amazing when planning your wedding flowers, but lets be realistic.Recent trends have included single blooms in bud vases grouped together in your tables. You could purchase the vases yourself in multiple online, then just get your florist to organise the fresh flower component on the day. That way you still have the luxury of fresh flowers, without a huge price tag.

Many brides find that as you start making decisions ,it all flows on from there,Your florist will be able to assist you with the finer details, however you need to have your vision to begin with.Remember,it’s YOUR day,do it the way you want it done!
